Inventor George W. Morse manufactured the brass framed, breech-loading .50 caliber carbine. The unique and innovative carbine utilized a specific Morse cartridge design with a center-fire-system very similar to modern cartridges. George Morse additionally created the exceptionally rare cartridge box belt, which are seldom encountered today and considered quite the rarity. The two boxes are suspended on a canvas belt which has an iron roller buckle, held by pairs of brass belt loops. The featured cartridge boxes are complete and original, retaining all 24 cartridge tubes, with original belt and roller buckle. Each belt held two cartridge boxes, with each box measuring 11″ X 4″ and containing 12 tubes for the Morse cartridges. Condition: Original closure tabs are present with wear from campaign, small crazing on edges of the ranger, but still strong. A very rare accouterment for the Morse Carbine collector.
