South Carolina Waist Belt Plate

$10,500.00

The rarest example of the three sized patterns, modeled after the U.S. regulation pattern. This specimen was originally located at Berkley Plantation off Kimages Creek. The excavated location was rich in history, being clear-cut by troops during the American Civil War. This rare buckle undoubtably became a souvenir by a Federal soldier, although Confederate soldiers too, occupied the area, preceding Federal occupation. In any event, an exceptionally rare South Carolina waist belt measuring 57mm X 89MM. Listing in Steve Mulllinax referance rarity 8.  Reference of reverse plate: Found 1964, Berkley Estate, Kimages Creek.
