Blued barrel with generous amounts case hardening on receiver, breech-block, lock lever, trigger guard and shoulder stock plate. This featured example has survived in it&146;s original “mint new” state of preservation. Many Union Infantry and Cavalry regiments were armed with Sharps rifles. Confederate Cavalry regiments partially armed with Sharps rifles were the 5th Virginia, 12th Tennessee and the 13th Texas.
