Drillmaster, and enrollment officer, CSA, 1862-1863. Captain, Redwoods Company, 1864. Major, 8th Alabama Cavalry, 1864. KIA Battle of LaFayette, Georgia.  Presentation Inscription: A Testimonial of Regard. To Lt. R. H. Redwood from his Company” July 1863.- This sword is accompanied by a well-researched informational binder containing Richard Redwood’s family history, his service records, pictures of Richard Redwood and information on the “Battle of LaFayette,” Georgia, where he was killed June 24, 1864, during part of the “Atlanta-Georgia Campaign“.
