Excellent condition Type II Ames manufactured, Model 1840 Light Artillery Sabre. This enlisted artillery sabre is correctly inspector marked, JH on scabbard drag, ricasso and pommel, with firm address on reverse ricasso. Typical three line block address "AMES MFg Co, CHICOPEE, MASS. US marked at ricasso, JH inspecter marked and difficut to locate 1861 date.
