Almost no information is known about the manufacturing firm, other than their production of these excellent made 1840 Heavy Cavalry Sabres and British pattern 1822 Cavalry Officers sabre. It is also not known if their sabre's were imported into the Confederacy or solely to the Union, but there are many Civil War images with confederate cavlarymen carrying this exact pattern cavalry sabre. These were extremely well made sabres with the grip having two strands of twisted brass wire, turned around the grip 15 times, twisted 13 times per inch, creating unequalled grip serviceability. This cavalry sabre is in excellent condition. CS Acquisitions Museum
