Manufactured by Savage Revolving Fire-Arms Company, Middletown, Conn. Navy Model Revolver. Manufactured between 1860 and 1861, with total producion of about 20,000.  Most Savage Navy revolver production were made on Government contracts. Purchased under contract by both the U.S. Army and Navy, with total government purchases of 11,984, and balance of sales to Civilians. A fine to better, investment grade condition revolver, that would be difficult to upgrade. A favorite of Confederate Cavalrymen in the Western theatere.  CS Acquisitions Museum.
