Georgia Cartridge Box

Exceptional condition Georgia manufactured cartridge box with it's original Georgia box plate present. This very rare cartridge box was more than likely the product of either William Brands & Co. or N.Crown & Co. of Columbus, Georgia. The Cartridge box and painted linen shoulder strap are in near mint condition, with no tears or breaks. This Georgia cartridge box appears to be "one of the finest condition surviving examples in existence" in a state of almost new preservation. It was more than likely captured in the war as a souvenir, to survive in such remarkable condition. N. Crown & Co. had Confederate contracts in 1863-1864 for accoutrement sets (cartridge & cap boxes, belts and bayonet scabbards)
